How it
Works
What you can expect:
A pre-workshop questionnaire (for you to complete)

It’s time to put all of your plans on to paper, so Emma can start to decipher where you’re at. The questions will ask you about every aspect of your business, from the likes of your planned service offering and pricing; who you want to help and why; businesses and people you find inspiring; and what your ideal business and lifestyle running it, resembles.

Pre-workshop competitor analysis (for Emma to complete)

Before you jump into the workshop, Emma will conduct a competitor analysis to understand where your opportunities are to stand out. She’ll also gather some ideas in your weakest areas, whether that be around your service offering, messaging, future marketing tactics, etc -

A full day, face-to-face session (together)

Face-to-face is where the magic happens. Together, you’ll go through each of your strategy ‘puzzle pieces’ to form a clear view of what to do going forward. Emma will then seek your input from presenting her competitor research and recommendations. The discussion is not scripted, nor too serious. It’s intended to be an open forum with key focus on your weakest areas to finesse.

As for location, If you are outside of Melbourne, let’s discuss the best meeting point; that may need to incur a travel/time allowance beyond the $7.5k

An editable strategy summary presentation

Analysing your competitors, we’ll unearth your points of difference and strengths - all to determine what we call a ‘positioning strategy’ - a plan to attract your ideal clients to what you offer.

Strategy summarisation (for Emma to complete)

After the workshop, Emma will map out and summarise your strategy into a clearly ordered document that you can future edit (it’s created in Google Slides). The contents will include creative concepts, including key messages, image style and content creation - so you walk away with not just a clarity plan, you have creative to use.

Strategy Presentation online (together)

Lastly, Emma will present the strategy summary and creative concepts to you, and ensure you’re excited and clear about your next steps.

We love seeing the impact clarity has on CONFIDENCE. You too, can...

COMMON QUESTIONS

How big is your team?

Small enough to feel like you gain a partner in business, but with the ability to scale from 3-15 in the space of a week. Our business is based on a contractor model that enables us to be dynamic, as small businesses need. Basically, we rope in the right people we trust, when the time is right.

Do you offer graphic design services?

Yep, we sure do. But only if we have helped you with your strategy first.

Do you offer copywriting services?

Yep, we sure do. But only if we have helped you with your strategy first.

Where are your clients commonly at, before they start working with you?

Re: our 1-on-1 consulting - besides wanting to grow, many feel that their current business doesn’t reflect who they are and the reputation they want to build. Often they struggle to find and articulate words that describe what they do. And, many love to work with us to nut out who their ideal clients are, and how to devise a strategy to stand out to them.

Re: our start-up options - some of our start-ups want to get up and going fast! So, they opt for our face-to-face 'co-creation workshop'. Others want to take their time and opt for our 6month DIY offering that helps them build a strong strategy with 1hr each week. Others want to plug their gaps with our tools, at their own pace.

What do you mean by 'blending business and brand strategy'?

We blend your business and brand strategy, into one overarching plan of action. We look at the direction you want to take your business in and consider the clients you want to really hone in on. We can help reshape yours services, recommend a customised tech-stack and considering your pricing model. We then get to work and unpack the opportunities that exist to stand out in your industry. That's where our creative brains kick into gear, as we come up with a concept to position your business differently, with key messaging and a content strategy that marries in. This all comes to life in your website, and makes your marketing efforts (say on Linkedin/Google Ads) wayyy more effective.

Do you design and develop websites?

Yep, we sure do. But the best websites have a powerful strategy behind them. That's why we only take on website work that involves strategy first. As for what platform we use, we are extremely fond of Webflow - as we find it's the most user friendly platform for clients to jump in and easily update copy, imagery, etc.

Do you offer digital marketing, i.e. Facebook, Linkedin and Google Ads?

It’s not our area of marketing expertise. But, we’ll connect you with one of our partners, who specialises in this space. We'll brief them on your strategy direction and liaise with them to create a plan of action. If you'd like us to remain involved, we can join bi-monthly meetings to track your campaign progress (and assist in on-going creative content development).

Why do you refer to yourselves as small business architects?

Well, architects meticulously plan and problem solve with a creative flair. It feels right for us. We used to call ourselves a ‘Marketing Consultancy’, but marketing is only a part of what we do. Business strategy is at the base of our work. And we love advising our clients on areas like 'how to improve their service offering' or 'client experience.'
